The 8+ best voice AI agents for eCommerce brands: inbound customer support

One fast-growing DTC brand we talked to this year missed 5,000 calls between Black Friday and Christmas last year. They underestimated the success of their own holiday campaigns.

Their CX stack? Three human voice agents + simple IVR tooling. No AI.

This problem could have been partially solved with a voice AI agent answering calls 24/7. The best AI tools pick up straight away at any hour, tell customers where their order is, and handle simple requests.

Three tech solutions on this list go even further. Consio, Ringly.io and Rosie change Shopify orders on the call. For example, their AI will cancel an order, update an address or start a return.

The brands getting the most from voice AI don't use it to replace their team. They run the two side by side. The AI takes the volume, and their people take the calls that need judgement, with a summary handed over on transfer. How a tool works in unison with the human team is one of our grading criteria.

Who should read this comparison? Founders and operators at Shopify brands doing $1M to $10M a month, looking at inbound support.

How we built the list: we started with the tools our clients already use and the ones brands in our pipeline asked about. This direction came from 100+ call notes and 50+ tools reviewed. We kept the top 8. All data comes from vendor websites and public review sites. The full method is below.

The quick picks: start here

Can change Shopify orders, not just look them up

  • Ringly.io: Best for Shopify brands on Gorgias. It has the deepest documented order actions and charges per call.
  • Consio: Best if you want orders changed automatically and are fine moving your phone line over. It has the strongest documented guardrails and a 5.0 rating from 42 Shopify App Store reviews.
  • Rosie: Best flat price for small US Shopify brands. $149 a month covers 1,000 minutes.

AI added to the phone system you already run

  • Aircall: Best if your team is already on Aircall. Native Shopify order lookups with no code.
  • RingCentral AIR: Best low-cost AI receptionist for after-hours and overflow on any phone system. From $49 a month.

Pay only for results

  • Flip CX: Best if you only want to pay when the AI resolves a call. $1.50 per resolved call, and transfers are free.

Built with a developer or agency

  • ElevenLabs: Best voice quality and lowest usage cost, if you have technical help.
  • Retell AI: Best for a custom agent with full control over how calls pass to your team. Pay as you go, no contract.

How we built this list

Most "best voice AI" lists start with a search engine. Ours started with our clients.

Influx runs customer support for eCommerce brands. We manage AI agents in chat and email, and we run human phone teams. Over the past year, the same question kept coming up on sales calls and in client reviews: which voice AI tool should we use for our phone line?

A few things to know about how we did it:

  • Every claim comes from public sources: vendor websites, help centers, pricing pages, the Shopify App Store, G2, Capterra and Trustpilot.
  • We didn't run paid trials, and we don't have an AI voice agent live with a client today. This is a research-based shortlist, not a hands-on test.
  • No vendor paid to be included, and we don't resell any of these tools.
  • Pricing is calculated from each vendor's public pricing page at three monthly volumes. Real bills will vary with your call mix.

The 5 things eCommerce brands told us matter

1. Order actions: can it change an order, or only look it up?

Order status is the most common phone request for most brands, and every tool here can answer it. The bigger time saver is when the AI can also act: cancel an unshipped order, fix an address before the label prints, or start a return. That's what turns a call that needed a person into one that's resolved end to end.

2. How does handoff to a human work

Every brand we spoke to wanted a clear path from the AI to a person. The questions were practical. Does the call transfer live or create a ticket? Does the agent picking up see what was already said? Does it land in Gorgias or Zendesk, where the team already works? Warm transfers with a summary make the AI and your team feel like one service to the customer.

3. Phone system fit

Some tools replace your phone system, and you move your number to them. Others sit beside it through call forwarding or SIP, so you keep your number and your current setup. Neither is wrong, but it changes how much you're switching on day one.

4. Cost at your volume

Pricing models vary a lot: per minute, per call, per resolved call, flat monthly plans, and multi-part bills. We calculated what each tool costs at roughly 300, 1,000 and 2,500 minutes a month, so you can compare like for like.

5. Go-live effort

Some tools are self-serve and claim to go live in minutes. Others need a developer and a few weeks. Brands with no technical team leaned strongly towards self-serve.

Comparison on capabilities

Tool Best for Shopify order actions Handoff to humans Phone system Go-live
Ringly.io Shopify + Gorgias, per-call pricing Read + cancel and refund, returns Transfer or Gorgias ticket with transcript Beside it via forwarding Self-serve, minutes
Consio Shopify order changes on its own phone platform Read + cancel, address, drafts, returns Live transfer + Gorgias/Zendesk ticket Replaces it (port your number in) Self-serve, number port
Rosie Small US Shopify brands, flat price Read + cancel, returns, name/street, drafts Warm transfer (Scale plan and up); no help desk Beside it via forwarding Self-serve, minutes
Aircall Brands already on Aircall Read only Live transfer + help desk log Aircall numbers Self-serve, no code
RingCentral AIR AI receptionist on any phone system Read only (beta) Transfer with summary; no help desk Beside any system Self-serve, minutes
Flip CX Paying only for resolved calls Unclear; cancellations routed to staff Free transfer + Gorgias/Zendesk ticket Beside it via forwarding Guided, about 3 weeks
ElevenLabs Best voice, with developer help Via MCP (developer) Transfer + Zendesk; others via webhook Beside it via SIP Developers, weeks
Retell AI Custom agents built with an agency Custom build Cold, warm or agentic warm transfer Beside it via SIP Developers, weeks

Monthly cost at three volumes

Tool ~300 minutes ~1,000 minutes ~2,500 minutes Pricing model
Ringly.io $199 $663 $1,658 Per conversation, money-back guarantee
Consio $149 $429 $1,029 Month to month, credits
Rosie $149 $149 Quote Flat plans, 7-day trial
Aircall $213 $556 $815 3-licence minimum
RingCentral AIR $149 $499 $1,249 $49 + $0.50/min
Flip CX $150 $500 $1,250 Per resolved call
ElevenLabs $24 + LLM and phone $80 + LLM and phone ~$200 + LLM and phone Monthly, multi-part bill
Retell AI ~$39 ~$130 ~$325 Pay as you go, multi-part

Flip CX, Ringly.io and Rosie costs assume every call is billable, so real bills are likely lower for Flip CX and Ringly.io. Aircall includes 3 Essentials licences, Consio one $9 transfer number, and RingCentral AIR uses the $49 base plan ($59 on some of its pages).

Whichever tool you choose, it works best with a team behind it. Someone needs to keep the knowledge base current, review call transcripts, and take the calls the AI passes over. See: AI Management.

The 8 best voice AI agents

#1 Ringly.io

Verdict: the most complete documented set of Shopify order actions, with the best Gorgias integration on this list.

Website: ringly.io

Best for: Shopify brands on Gorgias that want order changes automated with per-call pricing.

Why it's great

  • Deepest documented order actions: cancels and refunds unfulfilled orders, handles return requests, gives live tracking.
  • Best Gorgias integration: full transcript and tags, and resolved calls arrive already closed.
  • Non-support calls are free. Month to month, with a 30-day money-back guarantee and clear analytics.

Things to consider

  • Few independent reviews so far (3 on the Shopify App Store, 2 on G2).
  • The 65% resolution guarantee pays out in credit, not cash, and applies after 90 days and 300 calls.
  • Costs rise at high volume, and it doesn't yet handle address changes or WooCommerce.

What you'd pay: $199 at ~300 minutes, $663 at ~1,000, $1,658 at ~2,500.

Perfect client: a Shopify brand on Gorgias with a few hundred calls a month, mostly order status and cancellations.

Voice extras: 40 languages, 17 voices. Latency not stated.

Getting started: self-serve, no card needed until you go live. Setup "under 5 minutes" (vendor claim). You'll need your store URL, Shopify and Gorgias access, your cancellation and return settings, and your phone line.

  1. Paste your store URL, and the agent trains on your site.
  2. Choose an escalation mode and connect Shopify.
  3. Pick a plan and forward your phone line.

#2 Consio

Verdict: the strongest documented guardrails and the best independent reviews of the eCommerce specialists, if you're happy to move your number to it.

Website: consio.ai

Best for: Shopify brands that want order changes automated and are happy to move their phone line to Consio.

Why it's great

  • Changes orders: cancels unshipped orders, updates addresses, creates draft orders, starts returns.
  • The strongest documented guardrails: plain-language "never" rules and a confirmation before every action.
  • Gorgias and Zendesk tickets with an AI summary. Month to month, with unlimited free seats.
  • 5.0 out of 5 from 42 Shopify App Store reviews.

Things to consider

  • It replaces your phone system, so you port your number in (24 to 48 hours).
  • No refunds, subscriptions, WooCommerce or Intercom yet.
  • Credit billing takes some reading, plans auto-upgrade, and each transfer destination costs $9 a month.

What you'd pay: $149 at ~300 minutes, $429 at ~1,000, $1,029 at ~2,500.

Perfect client: a Shopify brand with a small team that wants order-status, cancellation and address-change calls handled end to end.

Voice extras: any ElevenLabs voice, or a voice clone. Languages not listed (English on the App Store). Latency not stated.

Getting started: self-serve, free setup. Number porting takes 24 to 48 hours, with a test number in the meantime. You'll need your Shopify connection, business verification, SMS registration, policies, a greeting and guidelines, porting details and help desk access.

  1. Get a Consio number and complete business verification.
  2. Connect Shopify and your help desk, and write your greeting and guidelines.
  3. Let Consio read your store's policy pages, switch on order actions, and test with a real call.
  4. Route your number to the AI agent and add transfer numbers.

#3 Rosie

Verdict: order changes at a flat monthly price, which makes it the simplest budget for a small US brand.

Website: heyrosie.com

Best for: small US Shopify brands that want order changes at a flat monthly price.

Why it's great

  • Changes orders: cancels unshipped orders, files returns, fixes names or street addresses, creates draft orders.
  • Flat pricing: $49, $149 or $299 a month for 250, 1,000 or 2,000 minutes, with a 7-day trial.
  • Keeps your number through forwarding, texts tracking links to callers, and logs calls in Shopify.

Things to consider

  • Very few reviews so far (3 to 4, all US), and its marketing still labels the Shopify integration "Beta".
  • Transfers and address updates need the $149 plan, and there's no help desk integration.
  • English and Spanish only, with no published price above 2,000 minutes.

What you'd pay: $149 at ~300 minutes, $149 at ~1,000, quote at ~2,500.

Perfect client: a small US Shopify brand with up to 1,000 call minutes a month.
Voice extras: English and Spanish. Latency not stated.

Getting started: self-serve Shopify app. Setup in minutes (vendor claim), though order features may need beta access. You'll need your website, policies, Shopify connection, transfer numbers and call forwarding.

  1. Install the app and let Rosie train on your website.
  2. Connect Shopify and choose which order actions to allow.
  3. Set up transfers and forward your line.

#4 Aircall AI Voice Agent

Verdict: the easiest way to add voice AI if your team already works in Aircall.
Website: aircall.io

Best for: brands already running their phones on Aircall.

Why it's great

  • Native Shopify order lookup (status, items, tracking) with no code.
  • Unlimited concurrent calls, and AI minutes include the LLM and telephony.
  • Transfers stay inside the phone system your team already uses.
  • Aircall bought the voice AI company Vogent in May 2026, a sign of continued investment.

Things to consider

  • Order lookups only: it can't cancel, refund or edit orders.
  • Costs more at low volume: $0.49 a minute plus a 3-licence minimum.
  • AI-handled calls currently show as "missed" in analytics, and the performance dashboard is in beta.

What you'd pay: $213 at ~300 minutes, $556 at ~1,000, $815 at ~2,500.

Perfect client: a Shopify brand on Aircall that wants AI for order-status calls, overflow and after-hours, with staff handling changes.

Voice extras: 21 languages in the help centre (38 in marketing). Latency not stated.

Getting started: self-serve trial or through the Shopify App Store. Setup "in minutes" (vendor claim). You'll need FAQs, transfer rules, Aircall and Shopify admin access, customer phone numbers in Shopify, and a new or ported number.

  1. Install the Shopify integration and turn on Get Order Details.
  2. Create an inbound AI Voice Agent and add your knowledge base, scripts and transfer rules.
  3. Test lookups, then switch it on in a number's call flow with a fallback transfer.

#5 RingCentral AIR

Verdict: a low-cost way to make sure every call gets answered and routed, whatever phone system you use.

Website: ringcentral.com

Best for: a low-cost AI receptionist on any phone system for after-hours and overflow.

Why it's great

  • Works beside any phone system through SIP or forwarding. You keep your number, and no RingEX licence is needed.
  • $49 a month with 100 minutes, a 14-day trial, and self-serve setup.
  • Passes caller details and a summary on transfer, in 7 languages.

Things to consider

  • It's a receptionist first: Shopify lookup is read-only and in beta.
  • $0.50 a minute after the first 100 minutes, which adds up at high volume.
  • No help desk integration, and the standalone product is only available in the US and Canada.

What you'd pay: $149 at ~300 minutes, $499 at ~1,000, $1,249 at ~2,500.

Perfect client: a brand that mainly needs missed calls answered and routed, not orders changed.

Voice extras: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese and Dutch. Latency not stated.

Getting started: self-serve trial. Setup "in minutes" (vendor claim). You'll need your website and FAQs, routing rules, a Shopify sign-in (beta), and forwarding or SIP access.

  1. Start the trial and train AIR on your website and documents.
  2. Set routing and transfer rules, and connect Shopify (beta).
  3. Forward or connect your line.

#6 Flip CX

Verdict: the only tool here that ties its price directly to results.

Website: flipcx.com

Best for: brands that want to pay only for calls the AI resolves.

Why it's great

  • $1.50 per resolved call, free transfers and $0 setup.
  • Sits beside your phone system (Aircall, Five9, Talkdesk, Genesys) through call forwarding.
  • Tickets with summaries in Gorgias, Zendesk and Kustomer, plus commerce-specific intents such as WISMO, returns and subscriptions.

Things to consider

  • Public documentation is light: the only documented Shopify action routes cancellations to an agent.
  • "Resolved" isn't publicly defined, and pricing goes through sales.
  • English only, in five countries, with 17 G2 reviews.

What you'd pay: up to $150 at ~300 minutes, $500 at ~1,000, $1,250 at ~2,500, assuming every call is resolved. Real bills are likely lower.

Perfect client: a US or UK Shopify brand on Aircall and Gorgias or Zendesk that wants costs tied to results.

Voice extras: English only. Latency not documented.

Getting started: "Start Free", then a guided rollout with sales. First intent live in 30 minutes and a three-week rollout (vendor claims). You'll need help desk access, call forwarding, a Shopify connection and intent settings.

  1. Week 1: connect the help desk, forward calls and run Listen Mode.
  2. Week 2: launch the first intents.
  3. Week 3: expand to more use cases.

#7 ElevenLabs (ElevenAgents)

Verdict: the widest choice of voices and the lowest usage cost, for brands with technical help.

Website: elevenlabs.io

Best for: brands with a developer or agency that want premium voice at the lowest per-minute price.

Why it's great

  • Lowest AI usage cost of the 8: $24, $80 or about $200 a month at our three volumes, before LLM and phone costs.
  • More than 5,000 voices to choose from.
  • Keeps your number through SIP, with plain-language guardrails, call scoring and native Zendesk tools.

Things to consider

  • It's a developer platform: Shopify connects through an MCP server rated "Intermediate", and Gorgias and Intercom need a hosted webhook.
  • The bill has four parts: plan, minutes, LLM and telephony.
  • The no-code product, Reception ($29 to $199), can't look up Shopify orders.

What you'd pay: $24 at ~300 minutes, $80 at ~1,000, about $200 at ~2,500, plus LLM and phone costs.

Perfect client: a brand on Zendesk with technical help that wants a premium custom agent.

Voice extras: 31 languages for agents. Vendor-stated latency of 500 to 800 ms.

Getting started: self-serve, with a free plan. Expect a few weeks with technical help. You'll need knowledge documents, a Shopify MCP URL and key, Twilio or SIP access, and a developer-hosted webhook endpoint.

  1. Create the agent (prompt, voice, language) and add knowledge documents.
  2. Add tools for transfer, Zendesk and Shopify MCP, then set guardrails and test.
  3. Connect a number through Twilio or SIP, and set analysis criteria and webhooks.

#8 Retell AI

Verdict: the most flexible handoff to your team and transparent pay-as-you-go pricing, for brands working with an agency.

Website: retellai.com

Best for: brands working with an agency that want a custom agent and precise control over transfers.

Why it's great

  • Transparent pay-as-you-go pricing from $0.07 to $0.31 a minute, with no platform fee or contract.
  • The most flexible handoff: cold, warm or "agentic warm" transfer, where the AI briefs the person before connecting the caller.
  • Keeps your number through SIP. Ringly.io runs on Retell's infrastructure.

Things to consider

  • No ready-made Shopify or WooCommerce connector, so order features are built by a developer.
  • Real cost depends on the LLM and voice you choose (typically $0.13 to $0.31 a minute), and QA is a paid add-on.

What you'd pay: about $39 at ~300 minutes, $130 at ~1,000, $325 at ~2,500.

Perfect client: a brand with an agency partner wiring a custom agent into its own systems.

Voice extras: choice of voice providers. Languages and latency not listed in our sources.

Getting started: self-serve, with $10 of free credit. Expect a few weeks with a developer. You'll need a knowledge base, a number or SIP trunk, and API access to Shopify and your help desk.

  1. Create the agent and choose the LLM, voice and knowledge bases.
  2. Build functions for order lookups and tickets, and add transfer tools.
  3. Test with simulations, then buy or import a number.

Honourable mentions

These didn't make the top 8, but still an excellent choice for the right use case.

  • CloudTalk: a capable phone system with an AI agent from $99 a month, though its voice agent can't look up orders yet and new Shopify connections are paused.
  • Synthflow: once a popular no-code option, now enterprise-only, from $30,000 a year.
  • PolyAI, Sierra and Decagon: strong enterprise voice agents, with pricing and rollouts built for large contact centres.
  • Famulor: one of very few tools claiming WooCommerce order actions. Worth a look for WooCommerce brands, with careful checking of its claims and reviews.
  • Alhena AI: chat, email and phone in one agent, with WooCommerce support. Based on vendor claims only so far.

How to choose a voice AI agent for your brand

  • Your team already uses Aircall: start with Aircall.
  • You're on Shopify and Gorgias and want cancellations and refunds handled automatically: Ringly.io.
  • You want cancellations and address changes handled, and you're happy to move your number: Consio.
  • You're a US brand using up to 1,000 minutes a month and want a fixed price: Rosie.
  • You want to pay only when the AI resolves a call: Flip CX.
  • You mainly need missed and after-hours calls answered and routed: RingCentral AIR.
  • You're on Zendesk, have a developer, and want the best voice: ElevenLabs.
  • You're working with an agency on a custom agent and want full control of transfers: Retell AI.
  • You're on WooCommerce: look at Famulor or Alhena AI, and plan for your team to handle order changes.

How voice AI and your team work together

Top brands use AI voice as the first voice, not the only voice. They build a simple bridge between AI automations and call routing to a human.

AI is exceptional at answering every call straight away, 24/7. It can handle order status, tracking, policy questions and, with the right tool, order changes. When a call needs judgement, such as an upset customer, a VIP, a complex return or anything outside its rules, it passes the call to a person along with what's already been said. This added context makes the job easier for the person who then takes the call or calls back the customer.

To run a reliable AI + human team working together, consider AI management which combines the management of the AI and the human team, so the complete customer experience improves: Better CSAT, faster resolution times and more repeat purchases.

At about 1,000 call minutes a month, costs on this list range from $80 plus LLM and phone costs (ElevenLabs) and about $130 (Retell AI) to $663 (Ringly.io). Rosie covers 1,000 minutes for a flat $149.

Ringly.io, Rosie, RingCentral AIR and Aircall are self-serve and say setup takes minutes. Consio's number port takes 24 to 48 hours. Flip CX quotes a three-week rollout. ElevenLabs and Retell AI usually take a few weeks with a developer.

Most brands we work with don't. They use AI to answer every call and handle routine requests, and keep people for the calls that need judgement. A good handoff between the two is one of the most important things to check when choosing a tool.
